Finalists triumph in front of a sell-out crowd in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf, 12 October 2026 – Eight days of world-class padel, packed stands and a sold-out finals weekend: the CUPRA Germany Premier Padel P2 2026 came to a close on Sunday at CASTELLO Düsseldorf with two top-class finals. In the men’s draw, Arturo Coello/Agustín Tapia claimed the title with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Franco Stupaczuk/Jon Sanz. In the women’s final, Martina Calvo/Claudia Fernández defeated Ariana Sánchez/Andrea Ustero 6-3, 6-0. Over the finals weekend alone (quarter-finals to finals), almost 8,000 spectators attended the tournament.

In the men’s final, top seeds Coello/Tapia overcame fourth seeds Stupaczuk/Sanz. In the second set, their opponents served for the set at 6-5, but Coello/Tapia broke back and won the tiebreak 7-5. Having lost last year’s final, they have now won their first title in Germany – their third in a row after the Paris Major and the Rotterdam P2, and their eleventh of the season.

The women’s final was also a rematch: Calvo/Fernández had lost the Paris Major final to Sánchez/Ustero, who had most recently won two tour events in a row. In Düsseldorf, fourth seeds Calvo/Fernández claimed a clear 6-3, 6-0 victory in one hour and eight minutes. For the young duo, it is already their second title from just six tournaments together since July.

Both of Saturday’s semi-final sessions were sold out. In the women’s draw, Calvo/Fernández beat second seeds González/Josemaría in three sets. In the men’s draw, Stupaczuk/Sanz defeated second seeds Galán/Chingotto, while Coello/Tapia won against Lebrón/Augsburger.

German players on the international stage

German players were also represented at the Germany P2. A total of six German teams competed in the main draw or in qualifying. Their participation was made possible in part by five wildcards, two of which were awarded to upcoming players by the German Padel Association (Deutscher Padel Verband, DPV).

In qualifying, the German teams recorded one win, but this was not enough to reach the main draw this year. Nevertheless, the Germany P2 gave German players the opportunity to test themselves against the world’s best on the international stage and to gain experience at the highest level in front of a home crowd.

A full house for padel

The tournament’s appeal extended well beyond the court. Throughout all eight days of competition, the stands at CASTELLO Düsseldorf filled up, and the finals weekend was completely sold out with almost 8,000 spectators.

The tournament was also widely accessible to fans unable to attend in person, with Sky Sport broadcasting the event in Germany for the first time, marking an important step in expanding the tournament’s reach in the market. Main-draw coverage was complemented by livestreams on Red Bull TV and Premier Padel’s YouTube channel. Qualifying was produced by the German Padel Association (DPV) and livestreamed on Sporteurope.TV.
